Poker Stars Sign Up Bonus?

Postby danny-s-fac » Nov 11 2005

Hi,

I've decided for a change of sites as ive been building my bankroll slowly on VC poker. I started with $100 that i won in a real life freeroll tourney and built that up to $550 mainly with one win in a MTT, was slowly building up playing STT's but found myself evening out on the same money over and over and just decided it was time to see a new site and new challenges.

Ive heard a lot of good stuff about Poker Stars, apprently the players are better, the tourneys are great...and hopefully most of the all the players are not super loose like on Vc a lot of the time.

My question was, is there a sign up bonus for Poker Stars? I can't find one of the site anywhere. I got the software (which i just say i found a bit ugly and confusing) but it is my site of choice due to the great repuation of the tourneys which is what i want to take part in the most.
Id like to get some kind of bonus on my $500 deposit, maybe its worth going to another site first before i deposit it to poker stars, is there somewhere better i can pick up a quick bonus on my money before moving to poker stars?

thanks
- Danny

The bonus was last month on PS. Bodog might be a better place if your looking to bonus and play SnG's or MTT's as they count your payment to the house towards the bonus. I havne't played on Bodog so I'm not sure of the quality yet. Titan also offers a bonus and tourney's count but I think it is not as good. It's 100% up to $500. But from my calculations you'll need to clear 2,500 $11, 1,250 $22's or 834 $33's.

I started on Poker Stars and mainly played the SnG's then moved to Party and back to Stars last month for the bonus. With 1,500 starting chips you have enough wiggle room to be slightly looser than you can at party. When I played the $15 and $25 turbo's at Stars I cleaned house though. If you play tight in the beginning and push people around towards the bubble you'll do fine.

Stars does reload bonus from time to time, but does not offer a sign-up bonus.

sounds good, i'm not a turbo fan at all though, one of my reasons for wanting to move to stars was for the longer blind times etc. On VC you start with 2000 in chips, and blinds of 20/40 on the SNG's. The blinds are 8mins. Also VC do, do a couple of freezeout tourneys with 15min blind times.
I don't like rebuy tourneys either. I'm looking for highest guarantee freezeouts with feeders, high prize pool limit tourneys, and good s'n'g's with fairly good players.

Brick and Mortor is term for non-online traditional businesses. Brick and Mortor being literally brick and mortor.

He was referring to traditional non-online poker rooms.
Sure am glad my government knows what is best for me..., and if I disagree, well then, I’ll just have to go to jail for a while and think about it.

oops, oh yeah!

There is no go play in my area in the UK, a small buy in tourney every week but not great players and not a big prize, nothing compared to online.
