At first it felt scary to post $25 as a BB, money I fully expected to lose. However, I soon realized that the players were just like any other players. I quickly identified the fish and the rocks and went to work. Soon it was just chips on the table and not money. The amounts did not bother me. It was still a reality check to see $1000 pots being slid toward me and away from me, but I got used to it.
The initial results have been promising. I did have a $1600 downswing one day but I climbed back and then some that evening. After 2500 hands I am up over 60 BB. I am amazed at how bad some people play at this level!
Moving up to these limits has gotten me thinking. I actually had a slight guilt complex for a moment for taking some of these people's money. I would see people sit at the 25/50 table with $247.20 and I would wipe them out. An amount like this suggests that this is that person's entire bankroll and they are taking a shot at doubling it. Should I feel bad about cleaning them out? Am I turning these people into the beggars who frequent these tables?
I conclude that it is their own damn fault.
