WPT For Me!!

Postby ammbo » Feb 08 2004

I just finished first in the satellite for the WPT Party Poker Million. I am beside myself. I had to share. All it takes is dumb luck and catching cards, I guess. I will see you on the boat!

Well, luck only goes so far, I did pick opportune times to come in. For the most part I was merely an instrument of Matthew's vast poker kowledge!

Hey, Kewl, thanks for cheering me on, it was much appreciated!

Postby Seadood228 » Feb 08 2004

That's great!!!

I watched a little bit of it on the final table but didn't want to say anything. Finishing 1st such a great accomplishment.

Hope to see you, Matthew, and all the others from the site at the final table!

I can see it now, a showdown between Matthew and his pupils on the final table. What will you did if one of your students takes you down Matthew? :)

Hey, Seadood, I didn't SeaYoo there. I can always use a vocal cheering section. I was amazed at how tight people got right up until we were in the money. Then they just got crazy.

Highlights:

QQ three out of four hands in a row. Won the blinds once and had the other two broken.

My first ever straight flush (can you believe that!?), at the final table when I needed it most.

Called down numerous bluffs that I had nothing more than a suspicion on and guessed right. i.e. three hearts on the flop, person is beting into me and I called down his 66 with my 99 on a hunch. Dumb play but it went my way.

I also felt really bad for knocking out the 16th place finisher. I shall carry that guilt to the grave. But I won't feel bad about knocking you all out at the WPT! (we need an emoticon for "maniacal laughter")
