Time Tourneys

Postby Dogs » Oct 19 2011

A new slant from Stars:

Our brand-new online Time Tourneys each run for a set period of time only (min: 15 mins, max: 180 mins). When time is up, prizes are paid out based on the size of each players stack. Buy-ins are available starting from just $1!

I might have a go: I like tourneys, but not the time it takes to play them. I guess this format would teach you how to build a stack early if nothing else.

First instinct is that they'll be stall-tastic. Expecting a 15-minute tourney to play like a hyper.... oops

They've been running them a while now, I've played a couple and cashed in both for a small return. The potential profits are too small to be worth playing.

My problem is never building a chipstack early, it's maintaining a stack in a donk-infested environment.

This would be perfect.

I think that in theory these are good but I think the rake is way too high. Potential profits are a lot smaller, so paying 10% rake is way too much imo. However, sometimes I do feel like logging on for a short session, so this would be good.

If the rake was less and they made them on demand (180s?), then I would play them, but not now.

Nevertheless I deposited to get my $5 ticket and will be trying one at some point soon.

the longer the tournament, the more value since you are paying proportionately less rake.
