Re: Party Time Again?I can't see this happening they were the first to pull out due to being a public company and can't believe they would take the chance now
Re: Party Time Again?prob true MX.... lots of scenarios up in the air...
but if and when the US market goes live again...surely Party would make a play at it.. Poker is a test of your skill against your opponents luck.
Re: Party Time Again?I think Party is in a great position here in the US. They did everything the government wanted in 2006 and if poker gets legalized, I think the government would provide them with a license first.
That said, I don't think Party does anything to jeopardize their position before getting granted a license. They have to realize that they become the biggest poker site in the world again if they are allowed in the US market and PokerStars is not. Harold Camping was wrong. The world ended on April 15th, 2011.
Re: Party Time Again?I remember thinking at the time that Party were tipped the wink that if they played ball they'd be let back in. I never thought Dikshit and co would cough up the $300M they did, and also withdraw from the market, without some reassurances. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the US authorities at the time thought they'd get things wrapped-up more quickly than they eventually have.

Re: Party Time Again? It seems that this would be great for everyone. Party, players, US govt. Even euros would benefit as the player pool would suddenly go huge on party, but if you didn't want American players you could stay elsewhere.
But that doesn't mean that it will happen! Party already has the software so if they were allowed, in theory they could probably go back in next week? However perhaps Harrahs and all he money they have paid to people of influence might have something to say about that, but how can they potentially stop them? This year I've realised I know even less about how the American political process and lawmaking works than I thought I did. They are a public company, but going back in to the US market they would do everything by the book the legal way, so I can't see that being any problem.

Re: Party Time Again?
All good news, but considering the snails pace our government works in plus upcoming elections, it may still be a very long time off. Harold Camping was wrong. The world ended on April 15th, 2011.
