I will look into this this week. I know that it has been worked on and that the dates are set, but I'm afraid I don't know much more than that.

You have my guarantee that we will all know more next week.

Thanks in advance for your understanding.

Thats all I ask... I mean you guys put so much time and effort into this Player of the Year... that truely affect less than 1% of ITH readers. And I think some of us just feel a little put off, especially us long time loyal members.
I dont play well with Others.....

It seems "OTHERS" have a problem with losing

I'm a little offended now, as I am the one organizing this event. I can understand the frustrations, but the dates have been set, what more do you really, REALLY need right now??

There's still PLENTY of time to hold tournaments for convention fees, packages, etc. It is ONLY March, OK almost April. The event is in August. That's a good FIVE months for tournaments, you don't think it can be done in FIVE months?

I am having a little difficulties with the catering manager and am doing my best to get US the best possible price, is that OK? Or would you rather just go with the first offer and spend way more then what Matthew or I want you, as ITH members to spend???

The dates are set, they have been since December.

I will send a nasty email to the catering manager.

Well I don't know about you US folks, but speaking on behalf of the UKers planning to attend, a confirmation as to what hotel we'll be staying in would be a great help so we can start comparing package deals and whatnot.

Not to mention pricing for budgetary purposes. If I don't know how much it's going to run, how do I know if I'm going to attend?

Tanya, curious as to what the catering manager has to do with our decision about where to hold our convention. I didn't attend the welcome party last year. Did you have a sit-down dinner? If so, I can see why that might be important. I'm just curious as to why that's a consideration.

The catering manager and the prices we come up with are in direct relation to the cost of the convention fee.

I will send Matthew a PM as soon as that's "resolved", which should be Monday if the catering manager gets the email I sent her.

Sorry if I've dissapointed or let people down with the delays in the announcement. Some things are out of my control, but some things are my fault as well. I can only try to do my best.

I think the main thing is people just weren't getting any information. No reason to get offended, Tanya. There was a 'promised' time when more info would be released, and that date came and past, so people were just anxious :)

Also, things like location, convention schedule, etc, will all affect where people stay and when they want to get there. So, while the dates are good to know, more details for those making longer trips (which don't include me, since Vegas is just a 4-5 hour drive) let people plan more effectively.

Thank you for your hard work :) I'm sure this year will be better than last.

I agree. This is not easy work. My wife puts together meetings like this for groups of 400-600 people a couple of times a year and it totally wipes her out by the time it is over. If you have the time to keep us in the loop on the hold-ups and hick-ups it may help.

Some people must think you are kicking back at the country club sippin on a martini and booking this is as easy as point and click, or the tone of their written word is just poor. I'll vote for the latter.

I could be wrong, and I guess I'll find out for sure later this year, but Tanya does not strike me as the country club/martini type...

Unless by country club you mean poker-room/bar and by martini you mean shots, you are correct.

And Ketchup!
Love the Ketchup!

I've been asked to lock this one down, and point all your good attentions towards the now official announcement of the 2006 convention:

The ITH 2006 convention!

All the details are there - discuss away \:D/
