The field seems pretty strong this year compared to last.

Cheong is sick good so I back him.

Grinder is also obviously a great player. Racener also seems pretty solid. Not sure about Duhamel the chipleader.

I played with John Dolan in London so I have to support him. Also have a feeling that Senti could be a factor if he gets the double.

Soi and the Italian the wildcards.

Do not know anything about Jarvis!

I think the rest of the field has Candio and Nguyen outclassed. I think Candio seems prone to tilt so I could see his emotions getting the best of him. I think Nguyen just doesn't have the experience although stranger things have happened.

If Grinder finds his double up in time I like his chances. He's got the most experience on a big stage and that has to mean something.

I like Racener's game and he has chips.

I like Senti's game but he doesn't have a lot of room so skill may not be a huge factor on what happens with him.

After listening to Duhamel in a couple of interviews I could see him gambling too much but he seems to play reasonably solid.

I may put a bet on this - I only ever bet on poker and the Eurovision Song Contest - but have not decided where my money is going as yet.

I'm very much looking forward to listening to as much as I can live.

For god sake - Don't get The Maven doing the commentary this year - PLEEEAASEE!

Also may finish my Main Event trip report before the final table - that's the aim!

The beauty of the delay is either Candio or Soi could have spent three months honing a specific strategy and then catch some cards and get hold of a load of chips.

Ok here's the age old question. Who winning would be 'best for poker'?

Nguyen seems like the lucky amateur this year so look for him to run hot and finish in the top 3.

Candio will provide much of the entertainment so hopefully he'll stay around for a few flips.

Grinder will have lots of pros railing him. It would probably be best for poker if he or Candio won. None of the others have been established as "characters" yet by the TV show.

was it a blow up really?

I'm not so sure!

If he makes Duhamel lay down tens then it is a legendary play - it's a fine line to tread!

Initially it looked a lot like a blow up but I'm at the Tahoe Circuit at the moment and was playing a satellite and chatting with the dealer. One of his colleagues was dealing at the final table and they got to talking afterward and it appears that Duhamel was opening quite a bit. The edits make it look like he always had the goods when raising but if he was very active this isn't the worst play in the world.

I still think that some caution was called for since the two of them had such a big lead on Racener.

The key is Cheong had a chip advantage over Duhamel - so if Duhamel loses the hand he is third, so Cheong is trying to use that as leverage for sure. But then it is a case of can Duhamel commit so much and then fold? Clearly not with QQ but how about JJ, TT, AQ?

I mean - Cheong basically got it in with possibly fold equity with a ~30% shot? to have a giant chiplead heads up.

Not a blow up at all.

It depends upon how much folding equity he has. Since there is a short stack remaining he is banking on a fair amount of folding equity. He has to, because if called he is 30% at best. Maybe he does have sufficient FE; depends upon Duhamel's folding percentage after Duhamel's last reraise. I don't know, since I don't know how active Duhamel has been, but it can't be classified a blow up for sure.
