ITHer's schedule for the 2010 WSOP

Postby poker_Elmo » Jan 14 2010

I am excited already!

I got my mom an entry into the senior's event which starts Jun 18th. I will certainly play event 36. Then I will probably play event 39, depending when I choose to arrive/leave Vegas. I will likely arrive the morning of the 18th to cheer on my mom and ChrisJP, and stay through Tuesday the 21st (unless final table plans make me delay my flight home. :)

I'm still debating whether to go or not - but I am highly interested in

Tue, Jun 1st 5:00 PM
3-Day Event Event #7: 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball (Limit)
$2,500

Mon, Jun 7th 12:00 PM
3-Day Event Event #16: No-Limit Hold’em / Six Handed
$1,500

Fri, Jun 11th 5:00 PM
3-Day Event Event #23: Limit Hold'em / Six Handed
$2,500

Mon, Jun 14th 12:00 PM
3-Day Event Event #26: No-Limit Hold'em / Six Handed
$2,500

And maybe the main event...

I am going to play at least one of the $1K events, possibly two. I am still in contention in my poker group for a seat in a $1,500 event also. Not sure yet when I am going but it will be earlier in the series or in the middle.

I will be playing the Main Event.

I'll be in Colombia with family the rest of the time railing everyone online.

I'll likely play all of the $1K weekend NL events and some of the other NL Events and the ME.

Let's see:

Events 3,5,8,13,24,30,34(Seniors!),36,42,46,49,54,and 57(Main Event). With the exception of the ME all the other events are $1K or $1.5K.
OK probably not that many, but you never know. This could certainly change depending upon how good I think the Venetian is.

Note to Phil: The increase in quality of opposition in the Events with >1.5K buy in is more pronounced than you would expect. Of course the fields will be way smaller too--but not small. Well they are directly related obviously. And this doesn't pertain to the Main Event...it is a creature unto itself.

I doubt I will play a knockout or a 6-max, but it's a long ways away.

EDIT: My thinking as of 5/20 is now to only play the 1K weekend events, the Seniors, and the Main Event. Going to play a lot at the Venetian instead. We will probably be out of town for the June 12 weekend so won't play in that one either. That's still uncertain though.

Wow really? The difference between the 1.5k and the 2.5k events will be that great? thanks for the tip Chris.

I still think the 1.5k 6 max will be awesome.

At the moment I'm planning a few weeks of 4-5 days in Vegas and then the weekends in San Francisco but I might change my mind!

When do the Venetian usually announce their schedule?

The Monday 6 handed event will be a tough, mostly internet player field. I would avoid it.

I remember reading that that the $1500 events are full of fish and the $2500 events are full of 2+2 regs.

It wasn't always this way, but last year pretty much any event >$2,000 had much tougher fields - at least for the NL events. And during the week the events are even tougher. Of course this is relatively speaking. All of the tournaments are good value for good players, but the true EV events are the small buy-in events on the weekends.

I actually think weekends > weekdays is the stronger effect and the buy-ins just happen to track to the weekend/weekday split.

This may be. I'll check my stats from the last two years when I get a chance.

I'm aiming for 8, 11 and 13. That's two 1.5s and a 1k on a weds, fri, sat. Like June 2-5, I think

If I get out of those with over 10k of winnings, I'll do the ME.

That's the plan anyway

There is a small chance I might go opening weekend.
