Insane hands from 2010 ME

Postby taz115 » Jul 13 2010

Well last year we IThers gushed about how recklessly some players were playing. Here is a real head scratcher from a few minutes ago... man:

Before we arrived at the table, Fabien Dunlop and Adam Levy put in five bets before the flop, Dunlop opening, Levy three-betting from the button, Dunlop four-betting, and Levy coming back over the top. The flop came down :th :9s :2d and Dunlop checked to Levy, who bet 80,000. Dunlop shoved and Levy snap-called.

Dunlop :As :2s
Levy :Ah :Ac

Dunlop could win only with another deuce or running spades. The turn, however, was the and the river the , decimating Dunlop's stack and giving Levy a massive double-up to 820,000 in chips. After starting the day with over 328,000, Dunlop is down to 95,000.

By our estimate, Levy is now the overall chip leader as we head into the first break of the day.

I know Roothlus is aggro but what oh what are you 4-betting preflop with A2s against anyone for? And then c/r all-in on the flop with bottom pair... did Dunlop forget that Roothlus 5-bet him pre? What are you putting Roothlus on after he bets you, maybe not exactly AA and other premiums but does Dunlop have any FE? Man just a huge waste of a stack.

I've read several hands where an aggro player like Lodden, Roothlus, PostFlopAction have 3-bet and their opponents counter by 4-betting super light. Why not just call more often aganist uber-aggro opponents when they 3-bet light? Or surely you have to slow it down post-flop somewhere along the line if you dont flop big.

I can understand why he's 4 betting light, but cold calling a 5 bet OOP with A2 is just totally losing it.

Welcome to the WSOP, the continuing most reckless tournament in the world. The bubble will break sooner than expected again this year. At least by the official pundits.

But not by me. 8)

And the beat goes on....

JasonMercier : Just 5 bet A9 into AA I may be the worst of all time. Have 100k left

Of course I understand that this is being done a fair amount and most of it never hits the iceberg, but still....

Just read this one on pokernews

"Bansi Folds to Seven-Bet Shove

Posted 40 minutes ago by change100

The hand started innocently enough, but ended with Praz Bansi losing about 35% of his chips without even seeing a flop.

The action was folded around to Bansi in late position. He opened for 14,000 and Ryan Eriquezzo three-bet to 36,000. Both blinds folded and Bansi came back over the top for 88,000. Eriquezzo five-bet to 150,000, Bansi put in a sixth raise to 300,000 and Eriquezzo moved all-in for about 900,000 total. He had Bansi covered.

Bansi thought for an eternity before giving up his hand and saving his last 530,000 for a better spot.

"Weeeeeeee!" said Eriquezzo, rubbing salt in the wound as he showed the {10-Diamonds}. He's up to 1.25 million."

There's a thin line between terrible and genius in this game...they always have aces when I 4/5/6bet though!

Evan Lamprea starts Day 6 as an unknown chip leader with 3.5M chips... not for long though:

Evan Lamprea raised from the cutoff seat and David Benyamine three-bet from the button. Lamprea four-bet shoved to put Benyamine all in. Benyamine made the call.

Benyamine held the :Kc :Kh and was up against the :jh :7h for Lamprea.

The board ran out xxxxx to double Benyamine up. He's now got over 800,000 in chips while Lamprea slipped to 2.58 million.

Yeah-what do you have when you put a min-raise in for the 6th pre-flop bet of the hand, yet fold when your opponent shoves? Seriously-that much action pre, the guy makes a min-raise and decides to get away from the hand. Its like Bansi realized "this guy came over the top of me 3 times and shoved in the end-maybe I can't bluff him."

Tourney poker has gone stupid
