I witnessed Day 1A send off

Postby chrisjp » Jul 06 2010

Cards got in the air only 6 minutes after Noon. Pretty impressive. Raymer did the "Shuffle up and deal" bit. The entire Amazon room was filled with entrants, and there are about 115 tables in there. Another 18-20 tables were in the Pavilion room. Those tables very quickly were broken. The tables started ten-handed but every table appeared to only have 8 players, or at least 8 stacks of chips being blinded away. Seats 9-10 were empty. It seems likely that those people that began in Pavilion were moved into Seats 9 and 10 in Amazon pretty quickly. You could register for Day 1A until 2:20pm so they had to leave space for those people.

They made it clear. You can only register for Day 1B until 2:20pm Tuesday. Then after that, for the next 24 hours, you can only register for Day 1C. After 2:20pm on Wednesday you can register for Day 1D. This is wise.

The mega-satellites were booming. The 10am $550 had about 200 entries. The 1pm $1K had over 600. They paid about 60 seats, The 4pm $550 had around 600 so it paid about 30 seats. Yanks and I played the 4pm. We both busted before it got interesting. My last hand: AA<AKs

But these are SO SOFT. I am playing the $1K tomorrow. I am also going to play it on Wednesday. This means that my original plan to play the ME on 1C has been scrubbed. I will play 1D instead, on Thursday.

Hit 4 deuces on a Deuces Wild Video Poker Machine as Yanks and I had an adult beverage after busting. Paid $250 on a quarter machine. Maybe it's an omen. 8) :D

Pokernews has the field for Day 1A at 1125. We will see how close they are to the official number that comes out, and also see how many survive 9 hours of play. They play 3 Levels (twenty minute break between levels), then dinner break for 90 minutes, then 1.5 more Levels. Should end around 11pm tonight.
Levels are two hours long.

Chris

GL with the sats!

4 deuces only paid $250? That's lame.

Keep yanks away from those 6/5 BJ tables!

1000 credits is great! Only .25 machine, I stick to the cheap seats. 8)

Also they had Seidel on the Secondary TV table at the beginning, and The Mouth was at the Main One.
